Scented geraniums, Pelargonium, have culinary, ornamental, aromatic and repellent uses. Flowers of various hues in spring and summer. Grows 18-24”. Scented geraniums have been cultivated in Europe since the 17th century. They are popular for their intensely aromatic leaves and subtle coloring. They are available in many fragrances and appearances. Some recipes feature their unique flavor and scent. Some are very useful as insect repellents. Grow them in well drained, neutral to alkaline soil in the sun. Great for patio pots. They cannot over winter in this area, but they do well on a sunny windowsill in the winter. Lemon........................Clear lemon scent. Small pleated, bright leaves. The 'Finger Bowl' geranium (for those who have such things), a favorite. Upright growth.
Old-Fashioned Rose................Large grower with wonderful, rich, rosy scent. Use in cooking and for sachets and potpurri. Large grey-green divided leaves. Easily one of the best scented geraniums!
