BASIL......Thai Siam

Starting at: $4.50

Basil, Ocimum basilicum, has aromatic, culinary, and ornamental uses. No summer menu is complete without the flavor of fresh basil. This easy-to-grow annual will reward your efforts with its unique flavor and aroma. Basil is widely used in pesto and tomato sauces and adds much to the flavor of many foods. Basil works well with many mild-flavored vegetables, fish, poultry, beans, pasta, rice, tomatoes, eggs and cheese. It is a warm season annual that grows well in a rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun. To encourage branching, basil should be pruned frequently. Cut back before flowering to keep the plants producing leafy branches.
