Blue False Indigo, Baptisia australis, grows 3'-5' tall. Zone 4-9. This upright bushy native thrives in poor soil and full sun once established. Racemes of 1” blue, pea-like flowers appear late spring followed by black inflated seedpods, which are good for cutting too. Easy to grow and long lived. 2010 Perennial Plant of the Year!
