Chinese Button Bush, Adina rubella, grows 6'-8' tall and wide. Easily grown in moist humus rich soil in the full to part sun.  No pruning needed!  Unusual fragrant spherical flowers that resemble tiny satellites that butterflies love to visit and birds love when dried. It has glossy abelia-like foliage with red margins that deepen in color for the fall. The stems have an arching habit and are deciduous. Button Bush is acid loving and will tolerate a range of soils from dry to wet. Thanks to Linda Sedell for updating us on the correct botanical name for this plant, we appreciate the research and time you put in.
