Yarrow, Achillea, blooms in summer. Zone 3-9. Yarrow laughs at full sun, poor soil and drought! Yarrow has showy, flattened flower heads composed of many tiny, tightly packed flowers. The often ferny, green or grey foliage is usually aromatic. Good butterfly plant. Deadhead to promote blooms. Tolerates poor soil if well drained. Can become lanky if soil is too rich. Cut flowers when pollen is evident to extend life.
